Have you ever had that feeling that you were looking for something special, yet didn't quite know what you wanted? I was in this quandary recently looking for the perfect wedding card for a special couple. I had known the bride since birth as she is the older daughter of a very dear friend and even though I could have made the card myself, I wanted something memorable.

Quite by accident and visiting the Boundary Street Markets in West End one Friday night, I came across "Classy Cards". Owner Chris Woutersz procures these cards from throughout Asia and they were nothing like anything I had seen before. In fact, exactly what I was looking for in a card for this special occasion as I knew no other guests would be giving a card identical to this.

Designs were in abundance and I stood for a while deciding on the right one for the soon-to-be wed couple. At a mere cost of $5.00 for the small square cards, $5.50 for the rectangular cards, $6.00 for the large square cards and $8.50 for large special designs, these cards are a bargain compared to the cards found elsewhere.

Chris explained that the idea for Classy Cards began by chance in 2013. Always searching for ideal cards Chris fell in love with the concept of a card that, on first appearance, appears like a flat card yet once opened, it surprises the recipient by popping up. Chris knew this was a unique idea as he had never seen similar cards in Brisbane and was inspired to investigate the idea of selling 3D pop-up cards.

The business, "Classy Cards" was born in September 2013 with around 70 designs covering Birthdays, Weddings, Congratulatory, cards for the new baby, the new home, novel blank cards for many occasions and larger 3D cards with intricate features. Special cards for Christmas, Valentine's Day and Mother's Day were introduced during that year and were very popular.

His Classy Cards range has now grown to include over 170 designs with new, interesting and sometimes quirky ideas being added on a regular basis. Chris is currently sourcing the Classy Cards 2014 Christmas range and looks forward to showcasing them in the coming weeks.

Classy Cards can be found at the Boundary Street Markets , 51 Mollison Street, West End from 4pm – 10pm every Friday night and from 9am - 3pm on Saturdays. The markets are in the Absoe Complex, which is across the road from The Three Monkeys Cafe. On Sundays, Chris heads to the Tote Room at the Eagle Farm Markets , Eagle Farm Racecourse, Ascot from 7am – 12.30pm.

Numerous photographs of these cards can be found on the Classy Cards Facebook page and also soon on the website. If you cannot make it one of the above markets, send Chris an email or text to discuss your order requirements. Chris can be contacted at [email protected] or on mobile number 0408 873 986.
