FUN FACT: Cheese making is said to be traced back to 800 B.C. Milk was stored and transported in the stomach of ruminants such as sheep and goats. While this may sound unpalatable, cheese was the result of a combination of the heat from the sun and residual rennet. Salt was then added to the 'milk curds' which lead to 'cheese' as we know it today.
On the 19th January,
The Cheese Maker will be teaching participants how to make feta, ricotta, yoghurt, yoghurt cheese, paneer and sour cream.
The workshop will be hosted from 10 am to 4 pm. It includes morning and afternoon tea, a glass of chilled Swan Valley wine, cheese tasting through the day, your own block of feta cheese, a copy of 'The Cheese Maker's Classic Delights Home Cheese Making Guide' and your own 'The Cheese Maker' apron. Notably, a packed day which just "GOUDA" be good!
The will be held at Swan Valley Central in Herne Hill. Tickets are $247.00 per person. Booking is essential and can be
done online.
If you ever wondered how to make cheese, then this is a great opportunity to learn. After all, it's a 'grate' way to start a new decade.
