The Classic and Wooden Boat Festival . This
FREE festival will be held at the Australian National Maritime Museum and around Pyrmont and Cockle Bay from
Friday 15 to Sunday 17 April 2016.
The festival will showcase some of Australia's most impressive heritage water vessels with
over 100 boats on display around the museum and Darling Harbour.
Be amazed by the 1924 luxury ketch Hurrica V (which was featured in Baz Luhrmann's film The Great Gatsby). You will also be able to ogle at beautiful
Halvorsens, yachts and skiffs, classic speedboats, steam launches, tugboats, whalers and Navy workboats from all around Australia. You can find a full list of boats on display

Not only will you be able to get some serious boat envy, the whole family will be entertained with a
huge line-up of activities. The museum precinct will come alive with a huge array of free entertainment including:
* Live performances from artists including Declan Kelly and the Rising Sun, Sam Joole and Stu Tyrrell and sea shanties by the sea shanty group the Roaring Forties
Swimwear fashion parade
An exclusive performance on Sydney Heritage Fleet's tall ship James Craig ( bookings required, free for members and $10.00 per adult)
* Maritime demonstrations including caulking, line throwing, Nawi Canoe Building and learn how to hoist a sail
* Kids' activities taking place in the
Kids Boatshed including build a model sailing vessel, decorate a sailor hat or print a calico bag, dress-ups and interactive aqua play games
Instagram competition with the chance to win cash prizes, #cwbfsydney

Symposium
RSVP now to take part in this very interesting symposium - titled "Preserving our Maritime Heritage, What does "classic" mean in a contemporary world?", the symposium is free and open to everyone especially those with an interest in maritime heritage, boats, yachts, sailing and/or historic boats.
The Symposium will feature keynote speaker Lin Pardey, an internationally renowned cruising sailor, an expert panel of museum staff and boat owners and a Q&A session facilitated by Jessica Watson, OAM.
