There are three Clarke Streets in Lilydale. It's the same street separated by Maroondah Highway and Melba Park.
Numbers 1-9 run from Hardy Street to Maroondah Highway. This is what I call the retail section.

The most interesting shop is the Vintage and Collectables Marketplace. A fabric shop, hair salon, dancewear, Freda's Café, a tattoo shop, and on the corner of Maroondah Highway, is Hubs on Main, a wine bar and beer garden.

Next door to each other are two Chinese restaurants, both offering eat-in and take-away dining.

A group of magpies were noticed hanging around rubbish bins.

Numbers 13-25. Runs from Maroondah Highway to Market Street.

I refer to this section as the health section as it is home to Yarra Ranges Health and Inspiro, both offering health services.

An occasional walker was seen and a small verge garden had some lilies growing.

To arrive at the next Clarke Street, a walk through Melba Park is necessary.

This is a pleasant walk and a path takes you through to the residential section of Clarke Street. Walking through Melba Park, many birds are always seen. On my walk, I saw several ibis, a plover and a noisy miner.

Numbers 80-40. This section is just like a normal street walk. It runs from Jones Street to Gardiner Street.

Most interesting near Gardiner Street was what looked like a crop circle on a nature strip. It was a circle of pink oxalis flowers. On the same verge was a small spoon and succulent garden around the base of a tree.

A nearby property had a Halloween-decorated wine barrel and a rustic farm implement.

Many roses were blooming, including two that had made a successful escape from a picket fence.

On the corner of Jones Street is St. Patricks Church, recently celebrating its 150th anniversary. I was pleased to see that the rectory next door had two large lychgates.

Being an older area, some of the large blocks had been developed into units. Two picket fences were still there and a brick fence topped by some wrought iron was definitely from yesteryear.

A few magpies were seen. Two Indian miners were seen on a roof line and a noisy miner on some playground equipment.

Two walkers were seen, one with their dog and one accompanied by two ducks.

Many flowers were growing for our visual pleasure; buttercups, geraniums, a Japanese cherry tree and a hebe bush.

A colourful daisy, several flags and a polygala were individual flowers seen and a couple of full garden beds looked attractive.

Clarke Street at Jones Street is closed between 8.30 am and 4.30 pm on school days due to the nearby St Patricks Primary School.

The three sections of Clarke Street, including Melba Park, are just under one kilometre and offer a variety of experiences.
