Conveniently situated near Newcastle's Civic Theatre, the Clarendon Hotel is a great venue for pre-show dining, drinks and boutique accommodation. The hotel is closed on Sundays and public holidays but is open from 10am - 10pm Monday to Thursday, 10am - 11:30pm Fridays and from 11am to midnight on Saturdays. There is plenty of craft beer on offer as well as wines and cocktails with popular happy hours during the week.

The Art Deco architectural features are attractive and complemented by quirky modern pop art touches. The restaurant is open for lunch (11:30am - 2:30pm) Monday to Friday and dinner (5:30pm - 9:30pm) Monday to Saturday nights. Function and event catering can also be arranged.

The weekday lunch specials are great value at $12-$14 and change regularly. Check their Facebook page for details. The menu is full of the usual pub meal classics as well as some interesting burgers and spicy starters. The atmosphere is relaxed casual and the staff are very friendly, special diets and children are also catered for. The beer garden is located in a sunny but sheltered courtyard and welcomes furry family members.

Various forms of entertainment are on offer in the evenings as well as different dinner specials . Trivia & scnitzel is on Thursday nights and live music is played from 5:30pm on Fridays and Saturdays. With great food and drink choices as well as lots of specials and entertainment options the Clarendon Hotel has plenty to offer visitors and locals.
