Grab a Coffee in Clarence Corner

Located near the busy Mater hospital complex, with several lanes of traffic racing by outside, Clarence Corner Bookshop is a tranquil oasis. Set in a historic building, with a leafy courtyard and several tables set amongst the bookshelves, it's a great place to take stock and recharge. Order a mug of coffee with Barambah milk and some sourdough toast and go globe-trotting through the bookshelves.
Browse the "Significant

With a mix of new and second-hand books, I love the way they have set travel stories for a country amongst factual guides for that region, bringing the travelling spirit to life. You could spend a long time browsing here - specialising in quality "significant" books, the shelves include intriguing categories such as 'mysticism, occultism, theosophy' and 'issues in society'. You're guaranteed to find both classics and obscure gems. The also buy quality second hand books.

Great to see a thriving bookshop in these hard times for booksellers. I'll make a note to visit this spot next time I'm in Brisbane.

They also have great customer service. I asked if they had a specific used book and they took down the name and called me a couple of months later with a copy.
