CK Coffee Bar & Wholefoods is without a doubt one of the best breakfast and brunch locations in Mooloolaba. Just a short walk from the beach and the main esplanade, you will find CK Coffee Bar just towards the end of Brisbane Road.

A bustling venue of activity on a weekend, it is not hard to see why. The venue boasts a wholesome mix of produce, all surrounded around healthy living for Sunny Coast revellers. Selling a variety of vitamins, powders, bars, yoghurts, cakes, juices and salads (to name a few), this venue really practices what it preaches on the wellness front.

My partner and I were lucky enough to stumble across this cafe on a Saturday morning and score a table before the masses started arriving. The menu caters for all tastes with a focus on healthy options. Seventeen items grace the breakfast menu (which is served all day, as is the lunch menu). I opted for quite a large feed by selecting the Roasted pumpkin, sautéed wild mushrooms, halloumi & rocket with housemade dukkah, guacamole & balsamic glaze with choice of toast along with a side of two poached eggs (for an additional $4). My partner, a devoted bacon lover, went for the Bacon, guacamole, housemade kale infused hollandaise sauce and poached eggs with choice of toast.

Coffees came out first, and quite promptly. I went for a latte with fresh cashew milk. The venue takes alternative milk options to the next level with six different variations for customers to choose from, these include Barambah organic lactose-free, Bonsoy, coconut, rice, Fresh housemade almond, fresh housemade cashew. Having tried homemade almond milk before (one of my favourite almond milk lattes being at Commune Espresso on the Gold Coast), I thought I would mix it up a bit with the cashew option. I wasn't disappointed. The nutty flavour of the cashews worked surprisingly well with the organic coffee blend. A unique option on the menu for beverages was the Bulletproof, this is basically a long black with butter and organic coconut oil. Not sure how popular that is, but if you are feeling adventurous then perhaps that might be the coffee for you.

Breakfast was served with a smile and my partner and I were extremely happy with the portions. They were quite hearty for such healthy food, which was a bonus. My avocado was perfect, as were the poached eggs. My partner's bacon was really crispy, just the way he likes it. As the venue began to fill up, it was easy to see why. The atmosphere is fantastic with its open planned arrangement, wooden floors and multi-level seating. There is enough room for many parents with babies in strollers and prams, which is something I have only recently realised is a must for restaurants where kids are able to dine. There is nothing worse than not being able to get in comfortably and easily when you are bringing an entourage.

CK Coffee Bar & Wholefoods is open seven days a week from 6am-4pm for all your nourishment needs. When you are next at Mooloolaba, veer off the main strip and head over to Brisbane Road to tuck into a healthy feast.
