I know that the question has been asked many times and in my opinion,the best pancakes in town are still to be found at Southland's Scribbles.





In "The Street' at Southland Shopping Centre, just down from the Cinema complex, Scribbles offers an extensive range of both sweet and savoury pancakes, omelets, crepes, a wide variety of ice cream and for the genuine sweet lovers, a mouth watering array of desserts.





However, Scribbles is not just about great food. On every table you'll find their innovative Doodle Pad for the youngsters (little ones and the grown up variety) and an array of coloured pencils and crayons to test your artistic ability while your food is being prepared. Your very own scribble just may win you a prize.





This very popular eatery is exceptionally well priced and having eaten my way through most of the menu items, I can assure you that the word scrumptious is not adequate enough to describe the wonderful range of tastes.





The service is friendly and relaxed, although highly efficient which is just what you need after a long day at work- or play. I love nothing better than to indulge in my Friday night selection and people-watch at the end of the working week. If you're off to the movies and have a time constraint, just mention it and your order will be whisked through. Take a look at some of the menu items below. There's no need to book, just roll up. Please don't take my word for it, go try it yourself.





Pancake Paradise has in double or single stack, Americano, Pure Passionfruit, Medley A`L` Orange, Fruits of the Forest and Banana Rama while the kids choose from the Playful Pancakes menu. Choices range from Rainbow Flip and Cheeky Chocolate to Strawberry Heaven. Now, I'm a bit of an Omelet fan so I hover over choices like H.C.T., Chicken & Mushroom, Aussie, Veggie Combo and Salmon & Spinach.





For the crepe fanatics there's a plethora of combinations such as Tropical, Veggie, Mexican, Aussie, Chicken (Supreme and Tandoori), Spinach & Feta and the superb Seafood Mornay. For those still chasing the sugar fix, the sweet crepes are unbelievably good. From Almond Praline, Strawberry Indulgence, Banana Bliss, Apple Strudel and Berry Magic to the stack served with vanilla ice cream , you won't be disappointed. These "ordinary" stacks come with Maple Syrup, Nutella, Cinnamon Spice or Zesty Lemon.





By the time you add your coffee (3 flavours and 4 types),Mocha, Chocolate, Tea or Chai Latte (4 flavours), you will just about roll out of your seat and waddle off to whatever you came to Southland to do in the first place. There is of course, an array of cold drinks available if that's you preference.
