The annual fun run is a staple in any Sydney events calendar. And it's easy to see why: dressing up in costumes, music on the sidelines, buckets of freebies and a Bondi beach party at the finish.

Dare I say it, Sydney has the best fun run in the world, not to mention the biggest. There will even be a Guinness World Record attempt, for the largest group of people dressed as Wonder Woman! Register your entry, order your race bib and start planning your outfit now to join the starting line on Sunday 13 August.

The City2Surf sets off from Hyde Park in the city at the start time of 7.40am (subject to change). The track winds east through Double Bay, towards Vaucluse and past Dover Heights, to the finishing line at Bondi Beach where the party begins!

There are some hilly parts to conquer and you won't be alone in dreading those, but you can take as long as you like. And the feeling of accomplishment will be worth the huffing and puffing. The atmosphere is one-of-a-kind with crowds of people thrilled to be out and about strolling, running, skipping and rolling along the designated roads.

There will be plenty of available pitstops and entertainment along the route so you can really choose your own adventure. You can also expect to see café dwellers and spectators to practice your royal wave to. And there will no doubt be some Where's Wally characters that you can challenge yourself and your friends to spot.

All participants will receive a medal, certificate and a record of their finishing time. You can pre-order photography to capture your moment of glory for the record books (available at an additional fee).

The entry fee for adults is $98 up until 20 July and $114 if you register between 21 July and 5pm 12 August. Entry fee for kids ranges depending on the age group. #pagesection_509 ">View all entry prices and information on the website .

The fun run also provides a chance to raise funds for our hard-working local charities. You can find a charity to donate to on the City2Surf website or you can create a fundraiser page of your own to contribute to a charity you want to support. It is a great motivator that makes each step you take on the bitumen count that little bit more.

Haven't taken a long run or walk in a while?
You're not alone! Join practice groups to prepare for the 14km route. City2Surf offers a training program with Rebel Sport in the lead-up for both beginner and intermediate runners. You can also practice on your own by visiting a local track - the Bay Run loop (7km) and the Barangaroo foreshore walk (11km) will help you build up your endurance.

Register early to receive your bib in the post (by Fri 30 June). If you miss the deadline, you can collect it at Hordern Pavillion, Moore Park during race week (Thurs 10 August - Sat 12 August).
Plan your fun run outfit by visiting a local costume or party store such as Snog the Frog in Surry Hills or the Discount Party Warehouse in Lidcombe.
Build up excitement for the big day by sharing your entry on social media #city2surf2023 and help raise funds for a charity of your choice.
