City Tempo Apartments provides quality short stay apartment accommodation in Melbourne city. This complex is also home to private residences. I was really impressed with my stay here. I received an e-mail the day before my scheduled check in day to verify what time I will be arriving. The staff here are incredibly helpful. It could come across as being a bit too helpful, yet extremely helpful nonetheless.
I arrived a little bit before the scheduled check in time of 2pm, and my luggage was stored securely. Upon checking in, the luggage was already in my room. I booked a studio apartment (no balcony) for $174 per night, and to my surprise I was upgraded to a one-bedroom apartment with a mini balcony. Tasteful white furniture is provided. There is ample space for everything, and my City Tempo experience on this occasion made way for a fantastic home away from home experience. Like a serviced apartment. My one bedroom apartment came with a walk through ensuite from the bedroom to the kitchen. The decor is modern and tasteful with beautiful artworks to match. The queen bed is super comfortable with a quality thick doona.
Comfortable workspace next to the balcony and second TV
The bathroom may appear to be a little small, hence not enough room for the toiletries to sit on the sink; however the shower makes up for that. Modern glass doors form part of the shower experience. In the kitchen, there is ample room for preparing meals, and laundry facilities (that's right a washing machine) are also provided with appropriate washing detergents.
The breakfast bar is also trendy and unique. Apartments are clean and easy to maintain. Upon re-locating to Melbourne before moving to Sydney, I was so close to moving into this building. The carpet cleaning would be low maintenance. The living room is just spacious and stunning. Just need to be careful to not dirty those white sofas. Two TVs are provided with surround sound. Simple heaven for sure. Telephone facilities and room service are also provided. From what I was told, Internet usage comes at an additional charge, although I brought my own.
The apartment is only a couple of blocks walk away from the Queen Victoria Building. The apartment is only a blocks walk away from La Trobe Street. The free City Circle Tram is close by, as well as Melbourne Central shopping centre and the State Library of Victoria. Groceries can be purchased at either Coles ar Melbourne Central, or Woolworths at QV. The City Circle tram also provides quick access to Docklands.
From there you're only a short tram ride or walk to Lygon Street and from the other side to Federation Square and Southbank. The staff provide great tips such as "there is a grocery store across the road" and that the main entrance is open from 7am to 10pm. If you arrive after 10pm, you need to enter through a side way. This hotel also has a gym/fitness centre on level one. I stayed in room 212.
If you're new to Melbourne, or you don't know Melbourne that well; don't fret. You're in really great hands here as the staff have extensive local knowledge. There are also free guides on the top things to do in Melbourne available at reception. These guides are complimentary. Six weeks later, it feels weird being a visitor to the city I once lived in. I am glad I chose to stay at City Tempo on this occasion.
