Ever wondered about the people who live, work and play in Melbourne city? The latest exhibition at the Melbourne Town Hall's City Gallery helps shed some light on the city's inhabitants. It is curated by award-winning author Christos Tsiolkas and photographer Zoe Ali who described their project as a "one mix-tape".
Entitled "City Songs", this free exhibition is an insight into the lives of modern Melburnians. It comprises of a collection of more than 50 black and white portraits and stories of people who spend their days in the streets and alleys of a single CDB block bordered by Swanston, Bourke, Russell and Collins Streets. It is a compilation of what Christos and Zoe heard when they travelled through the block and through the city.
The exhibition also highlights the multiculturalism of the world's most livable city through the diversity of people engaged through the project. Drop by the City Gallery and experience the essence of what makes Melbourne so special in this unique exhibition.
