In putting a real positive spin on the Marvellous Melbourne Quest , it is fair to say that Melbourne has a real appetite for quality 'amazing race' and orienteering like experiences in and around the city in particular. Thus, this Quest that is called Marvellous Melbourne is definitely giving many other orienteering based experiences in 'marvellous' Melbourne a good run for their money.

The Marvellous Melbourne Quest is anticipated to take around one to two hours to complete, yet if you know Melbourne quite well, you might surprise yourself in completing this great, challenging, enjoyable and rather rewarding Quest in at least half the allocated two-hour time frame, or slightly longer when you really pace yourself. It does not matter whether or not you live in Melbourne; yet if you are someone who has a thirst for at least some quality adventure and (for locals and visitors to Melbourne alike) would like to discover some interesting elements about Melbourne (historical and otherwise) that you would like to experience, then this Quest might be right up your alley.

It is not easy to feel too peckish during the Quest. However a small amount of snacks are recommended with a bit of hydration at hand should you need it. There is a fair amount of walking, but you do not need to take things as far as putting your running shoes on as a result of participating in this particular Quest. Best to be organised and get your MyKi topped up in advance, or have your Metcard available just in case. Once again, the Marvellous Melbourne Quest is also rather interesting, informative and enjoyable simultaneously. Something would be quite wrong if you did not appreciate Melbourne that little bit more at the end of your Marvellous Melbourne Quest experience.

Surprise is definitely the word of the day, and who doesn't like surprises? That's right. If I was to tell you too much about all of the landmarks on the Marvellous Melbourne Quest, you might not be too happy – I would have spoilt this delicious and rather pleasant surprise for you. Alas, on the other hand something would be wrong with you if you ended up becoming bored during the Marvellous Melbourne Quest, quite frankly because the landmarks and main local attractions chop and change fairly quickly without feeling like you are going on and experiencing an intensive trek or anything of a similar nature. Chances are that you might know some of the landmarks I have taken photos of as part of this Quest in this article; whereas some of the other landmarks and attractions may not be recalled on your end. It is all great because the order of the Marvellous Melbourne Quest continues to remain a mystery to you, and this 'mystery' has been designed on purpose – once again to not ruin the experience for you down the track.

The timing of taking the Marvellous Melbourne Quest on my end (as I literally just hopped off a plane from Sydney to spend another few days at my Melbourne home) was just perfect, and yet lo and behold (I don't know why) I was slightly homesick for Sydney (although I love Melbourne equally to Sydney); however in saying this, thankfully the Marvellous Melbourne Quest changed this unexpected emotion for me real quick - like a flick of a switch. The weather turned out to be perfect and comfortable for me (last Friday at the time of experiencing the Marvellous Melbourne Quest for the very first time) which was also perfect.

Melbourne (as marvellous as it is) is well known for its prominence on the arts and culture scene. A great opportunity came out of hiding to view some really brilliant street art, and hence art (reflecting the history of Melbourne in some cases) that I completely ignored in the past until today's (at the time of writing this) Marvellous Melbourne Quest to really appreciate. Such art can appear to be quite adventurous or on the contrary quite subtle. Your senses, your Melbourne IQ and your appreciation for Melbourne and its beauty expands by default. This cannot really be helped.

Furthermore, an unexpected (but rather pleasant) obstacle course came my way during my Quest experience on the Marvellous Melbourne Quest right near a popular theatre near Parliament House. Parents, children and prams (it was like pram city with a dedicated 'pram parking space') came out of the theatre in full force as The Wiggles are currently on tour right here in Melbourne (again, as at the time of writing this) where many families were really leaving the theatre at once heading back towards nearby Bourke Street. A glorious day in Melbourne in more ways than one.

The funny thing about life is that all good things do come to an end. The time then came to arrive at my 'mystery restaurant' in one of Melbourne's most popular laneways. Apparently, it was a street named for (or after) investors (so I already felt at home yet again) where my lunch was served at a French restaurant for some tucker almost an hour before my scheduled reservation time. Again, if you know Melbourne quite well, it might feel like you have completed the Quest in literally no time at all, yet you will still feel like you have received your money's worth.

This French restaurant was a big deal. Real (as opposed to paper) serviettes were used and placed on my lap by some cute waitress. An entrée sized gnocchi was enough. My mystery restaurant was beautiful, yet on this occasion I strongly felt that it was not appropriate for the staff to keenly hand me over a wine list just as I completed an orienteering and part amazing race type of experience, and my body language for 'no wine please' was quite obvious in this regard, although I did compromise on ordering a lemon, lime and bitters to drink.

I possessed a rather cool, calm and collected attitude wearing comfortable jeans, a loose top and sandals while I ate in elegance and opulence (gee, lucky me) around many 'suits' (despite being a Friday) which made me look underdressed on this occasion. The great thing about the Marevllous Melbourne Quest (yet any City Quest for that matter) is that you can choose your budget/price range for a mystery restaurant to be allocated to you.

Well, out of all of the three different Melbourne City Quest's I have been on, I would have to say that the Marvellous Melbourne Quest is the icing on the cake, although their Legendary Laneways and Grand Gardens Quests are just as enjoyable, challenging and just plain old fun. Carpe diem to this amazing 'Marvellous Melbourne' Quest. If you have a hunch to do this Quest, the best piece of advice I can give you from Nike's wisdom is to "Just do it."
