Enjoy the beauty and tranquility of Melbourne's gardens, and a great opportunity is presenting itself to you right now to do so at your own pace. From first hand experience it is actually a great thing to challenge yourself, and allow the City Quest Grand Gardens to be your invisible 'tour guide' in and around the top gardens of Melbourne.

Sometimes it can be boring (and yes at times a tad frustrating) to just walk along and take the same route all the time. This fantastic Quest gave me the opportunity to take a tangent and head down pathways in some of Melbourne's most beautiful parks I have never even been down before; and this is even coming from someone who loves immersing herself in nature, and has lived in Melbourne for a little while now as well. Expect the unexpected, and learn a bit about Melbourne's history along the way.

You don't even have to be someone who likes gardens and greenery to go on this well thought out and dynamic gardens Quest that runs for around about two hours. Your reward for completing the Quest is lunch at a 'mystery restaurant' nearby. Something would be wrong if you completed this two-hour Quest without any appreciation of Melbourne's parks and gardens; as well as for Melbourne in general. A great way to get out of that 'stuck in a Melbourne rut' and just go for it. On the other hand, even if you love being a Melburnian; then all the better: put on your walking shoes, keep fit, discover and be taken on a beautiful and uplifting journey thanks to the City Quest's newest Quest to be added to their 'menu' of Quests called Grand Gardens . Even if you do not live in Melbourne, and you either are planning to visit or you are staying in Melbourne as a visitor right now; you will also be in for a real treat and a surefire way to take many quality photographs to take back home, and show your loved one's what (fun) you have been up to. A great investment in itself.

These Quests that City Quest conducts, again are designed to be taken at your own pace. You can either participate in them alone or with others; or even as part of a corporate team building event. You can also pick the day, and have a say in the type of cuisine you want to eat in getting your mystery restaurant allocated to you. It is human nature to love surprises (ah yes, think Christmas time), and this is what this Quest, and all of the other Quest's put together by City Quest are all about. This is why I cannot tell you which parks and nature hot spots in Melbourne I ended up having to visit during my Quest, and therefore I cannot tell you which restaurant I ended up having lunch at. This would spoil the surprise and the experience for you, and you might hate me for it later.

All I can say is that the food is quite filling come lunchtime despite having a real appetite as I recently finished the Grand Gardens Quest quite hungry. Live and learn. Before heading off to the Grand Gardens Quest; it is advisable to ensure you have a full water bottle with you, and you are wearing comfortable walking shoes despite only needing to walk up to four kilometres tops. It is easy to feel quite hungry during the middle of this Quest, so remember to take some yummy and simple snacks with you to snack on in between.

Although the Grand Gardens Quest is quite easy, I managed to get this Quest completed in just over an hour and a half (allow two hours max) despite many different distractions with people asking me for directions; together with some of my friends constantly sending me text messages and the like; yet you will really get your money's worth as you will be challenged and taken for a real adventure for something that should really be quite ordinary in comparison. Although this Quest is quite simple; it is something that you will remember for a really long time as it has been well prepared. Your opportunity to enjoy a memorable day in the best of nature in Melbourne. Many thanks to Jamie and her team of staff at City Quest for putting the Grand Gardens Quest together. Enjoy.
