School holidays needn't be boring for families living in the Wanneroo area. Whether your child is a budding sports star or a quieter, more indoors type, during these April holidays the City of Wanneroo is providing a wonderful range of activities at various locations.



A lot of thought has gone into providing youngsters up to 18 with a comprehensive range of fun, interesting activities. There is also something for every budget, and while many activities incur a charge, there are also quite a few which are free.



Activities will be held at various locations in the Wanneroo area. Programs at the Phil Renkin Recreation Centre include a Mexican night, a guitar hero challenge, an excursion to the Great Escape and a late night skating excursion. Local community centres are also getting in on the action, with the Carramar and Butler centres holding excursions to The Maze, and Hainsworth providing several exciting events including indoor soccer, healthy pizza making, filming workshops, crafts and a couple of cool excursions. Banksia Grove is holding a fun MYO pasta and sauce workshop along with a pool competition and an excursion to The Great Escape while at Yanchep there will be chocolate balloon workshop, excursions, a filming workshop and the Yanchep Amazing Race. Wanneroo and Clarkson Youth Centres will also be holding an awesome range of craft, cooking, sport and filming workshops, as well as some great excursions.


Other community centres which will be holding holiday events during the April holidays are the Opportunity Play Space where a Pirate Treasure Hunt will be held on Wednesday 24 April; Cockman House which will have special children's activities on Sunday 5 May, and Buckingham House, which will be holding a free family open day (with lots of craft and other children's activities) on Tuesday 24 April.

The wonderful Wanneroo Library and Cultural Centre will also be holding some terrific children's activities during the school holidays. Steve Aiton will be holding an animation workshop for children seven years and over on Monday 22 April, James Foley will be hosting a cartooning workshop on Wednesday 24 April, there will be a 'supercharged' paper clay making workshop on Tuesday 30 April, and a Young Curators Workshop on Wednesday 1 May.

There will also be heaps of exciting activities for energetic young sports lovers including multi-sports programs at Wanneroo Recreation Centre and Gumblossom Reserve, Quinn's Rocks. Kingsway Indoor Stadium will also be holding a multi-sport program, a netball clinic and a couple of junior soccer camps.

In conclusion, with an assortment of activities like these, the April school holidays are guaranteed to be a load of fun at the City of Wanneroo.
