Dozens of sales with something for everyone
One of the best places to find a bargain is a garage sale. Many people spend time driving around on weekend mornings looking for a good deal at various sales. Meanwhile the sellers are waiting for someone to pay cash for their unwanted items. Now for the fourth year the City of Swan is helping to get the two together with a series of Suburb Sales when local residents hold their sale on the same day. Beginning on 8 February in Woodbridge, the events offer sellers a way to clear their clutter and make some money while buyers get the opportunity to visit many sales in the same area.
The suburb sales are organised by local community groups. Residents of the designated suburb register their sale with the community organisation which then produces a map. Buyers collect the map at a central location. Maps are free and often the community group has their own sale along with sausage sizzles and other goodies at the collection point. Last year there was an average of 38 sales held in each suburb so buyers can look forward to a busy morning. Dates and locations for 2015 are:
