City of Perth Buskers Weekender | FRINGE WORLD Festival
With hundreds of shows, the 2018
Fringe World Festival is the biggest yet. But with so many to pick from, how to decide? If only you could pay a few dollars for a sample and then decide. This year for the first time, festival goers can do exactly that at the
City of Perth Buskers Weekender . On the weekend of 2 - 4 February there will be seven stages in and around the Murray and Hay Street malls featuring over 100 performances. Visitors can expect to see magic, comedy, acrobats, dance and more, all for a donation amount of your choice.
Proudly sponsored by the City of Perth, the Buskers Weekender offers a chance to catch a huge variety of Fringe acts in short shows of 30 – 40 minutes each. The performers then pass the hat for the audience to contribute whatever they like. Many buskers have gone on to be famous: Robin Williams, WA's own John Butler and even Ed Sheeran began as street performers.
There are seven stages in the Buskers Weekender all with a different line up. Below are some highlights. Download the
program for full details of times and locations and start planning now.

The shows at the Buskers Weekender are free but performers will pass the hat at the end of each show. This is your chance to show appreciation for what you have just watched or been a part of, so be generous – you may have just met the next international star.
