Back for its third year, the City of Perth Festival of Sail will return with the opportunity for people to try their hand at sailing on the waters right by Elizabeth Quay!
A wonderful success both last year and the year before, the opportunity to try sailing is open to both adults and children, and can be a fantastic way to get a taste of life on the water! These FREE learning events take place on the Monday and Tuesday of the festival week (the 27th and 28th of January).
Overall, the week's sailing event will run from the 27th of January to the 1st of February, from 10am to 5pm daily.
On Wednesday the 29th, an evening of festive fun will take place with teams of the Festival of Sail sponsors and locally based businesses, accompanied by high-profile Swan River Sailing skippers, battling it out for the Corporate Cup! After this friendly race, you can then head to the Rooftop by the Lucky Shag for some networking!
On Thursday morning (the 30th), Swan River Sailing and the Royal Perth Yacht Club will be running Women On Water, which is a chance to see a group of up to 80 locally based business-women try the sport of sailing and experience the benefits that it has to offer! A great opportunity to support women in a diverse, fun and challenging sport!
In the morning of the final day of the City of Perth Festival of Sail, there will be an amazing on-water display of kite foilers and other exciting small vessels! As a welcome addition to the Festival of Sail last year, the Perth Kite Racing will be back to show off their awesome skills!
To close the event, the 2018 Warren Jones Gala Luncheon will be held at the Royal Perth Yacht Club from 12pm to 3pm. Guests will then be able to board powerboats, and head to Perth Waters to see the finals racing unfold, closing with the Presentation Ceremony in Elizabeth Quay.
This free event is an incredible way to try the sport of sailing, and network with Perth sailors throughout the week. Who knows, you might just become one yourself!
