Get your head out of the sand, it's almost Christmas
If you haven't been into a large department store, watched the news, or been on Facebook lately you can be forgiven for not realising that Christmas season is just around the corner. It might only be October but stores are stocking their shelves with Christmas decorations, bakeries are making Christmas puddings, and Christmas events are being organised.
One of the biggest events of the year for South-Adeladians is the annual Onkaparinga Christmas Pageant. The Pageant will be taking over Beach Road and the Christies Beach Esplanade with marching bands, festive floats, clowns, elves, and of course Santa.

Viewers can line the route as the parade makes its way to the Esplanade, but the fun won't finish once the floats stop. Between 11am and 1pm festivities will be held in Rotary Park, including a petting zoo, face painting, artists, music, and Christmas stalls. If your kids can't wait to see Santa in his cave after the pageant they can enter the 'Best Christmas Cracker' joke competition. The winner will get to sit in Santa's sleigh, helping him along the parade route.
