Meet artists, buy art, & be inspired

Immerse yourself in art at more than 36 studios, galleries, and creative spaces!

The City of Melville is home to many artists and creatives working in diverse artistic practices (including textiles, glass, printmaking, ceramics, painting, illustration, drawing, papercut and installation) and on the weekend of Saturday 8th and Sunday 9th September 2018, you are invited to explore their personal studios, galleries and creative spaces.

The 2nd annual City of Melville Open Studios and Exhibitions Trail will run on from 10am to 4pm and showcase artwork by hundreds of emerging and established artists in 36 unique venues in Attadale, Applecross, Alfred Cove, Melville, Booragoon, Mount Pleasant, Myaree and Palmyra.

Over the fun-filled weekend, you and your family and friends will have the opportunity to meet the artists in their private studios, galleries, creative spaces and ARI's (Artist Run Initiatives). Be inspired by the craftsmanship and artistry and find out about their stories and why they are driven to create. See artists at work, view enlightening demonstrations and purchase affordable art direct from the artist.

Whilst in the area, immerse yourself in the City of Melville's local history and discover the heritage listed properties and attractions. There will be many cafes, pubs, restaurants, parks and markets along the way, so start planning your Open Studios & Exhibitions Art Trail today! An easy to follow program with trail highlights can be found here.

Make sure to follow the City of Melville on Facebook and Instagram (@MelvilleCity) as the council will be introducing many of the artists over the coming weeks.
