Melbourne is poised to celebrate Christmas in style. Commencing on 29 November 2013, the Christmas Festival will ensure a whole month of free festivities for locals and visitors.

The annual Christmas festival will be the ultimate family friendly festival. This festival will feature a host of events and exclusive offers to imbue everyone with the Christmas spirit. The Melbourne City Square will transform into Christmas Square, a delightful wonderland where Christmas festivities will entertain everyone with a wide array of free and fabulous events. The highlight of the event will certainly be a dazzling and living Christmas tree towering at the height of 9.2 metre from the ground. There will be a magical forest maze where children can explore and discover Rudolph and his reindeer friends.

A nightly light and sound show will regale Melburnians with dazzling projections. There will be a wide range of spectacular decorations and a horde of daily entertainment planned to spread the festive fun and joy. Any Christmas event will be incomplete without the vibrant presence of Santa; so Santa will squeeze out some time from his hectic schedule for a special appearance from his wonderful Christmas Square residence every day, until December 24. Santa will personally meet and greet all the little children in Melbourne to spread the festive cheer.

Santa's Post, courtesy of Australia Post, is returning to give Melbourne children an opportunity to post Santa a letter with their Christmas wishes.

The Melbourne City Square is located in 44-86 Swanston Street, Melbourne and is highly accessible by both trains and trams. Go to the City of Melbourne website to learn more and stay tuned to all the delightful updates to this festive extravaganza.

Come over for an awe-inspiring and free celebration of Christmas and the festive season where people of all religion and nation are welcome.
