The City of Marion Libraries run a plethora of events each year, covering a variety of interesting and handy events and workshops. One of the subjects that could be taken for a run is one on ageing. It's not something any of us look forward to, but accept with grace most of the time.
Preparation is the key and some of the following events may be of interest to you, whether it's for yourself or for a family member. Most of the events are free (all the better to take advantage of), with some ticketed. See events as follows. Book early as events have limited seating and they fill up fast eg. The Simplifying Aged Care event has already sold out.
In our current climate that's controlled by coronavirus, do not attend if you have any symptoms of cold or flu. Practice distancing and hygiene regulations as set out by the government, and that way we keep everyone in the community safe and healthy.
The 1st of the 5 events above is an informative presentation for drivers who are approaching or are in their retirement years. Presented by RAA will cover topics such as car safety & maintenance, how to save money on fuel, transporting grandchildren, taking a holiday & motoring interstate, security at home while you're away, staying healthy & mobile more!
For the next 3 same events on Aged Care Explained there are 1hr bookings available between 10.15am and 3pm on different dates and venues. If you have an older family member showing signs of change or who are considering In-Home help or an Aged Care Home, book a private consultation with Gail Miller and have your questions answered. Navigating aged care is challenging and receiving valuable advice on where to start is bound to be helpful at these free events.
All age groups could really go to the last event to refresh and test your knowledge of our road rules. An interactive presentation it covers new and often misunderstood road rules, what to do after a crash, plus much much more.
