It can be challenging finding activities for the kids during the winter school holidays, especially when the weather outside turns cold and blustery. But this June term break the Aspendale Gardens Community Service, in conjunction with the City of Kingston, is hosting three affordable, indoor activities designed to delight and engage kids aged up to 11 years old with three different activities.

Basketball Program

Have a ball at the Basketball Program on Tuesday 28th June 2016. No previous basketball experience is required (although advanced players will also be catered for.) Learn some new skills while having plenty of fun, and everyone who participates in the Basketball Program will take home a FREE basketball to keep!

The Basketball Program is being held on Tuesday 28th June from 9.30am – 12.30pm at the Aspendale Gardens Community Service, 103-105 Kearney Drive, Aspendale Gardens. Parental supervision is not required. This is a drop off activity. There is a cost of $30 per child or $50 for two siblings. Bookings are essential and places are very limited. To book call Angela Costigan on 9587 5855 or email [email protected] or see the community life website by following the link here.

Magical Journey Theatre

The Flying Bookworm Performance Company will take children aged 3 to 8 years old on a Magical Journey through three classic children's tales. 'We're Going on a Bear Hunt', 'There was an Old Lady' and 'The Gingerbread Man' will be presented in a 'highly interactive 45 minute performance' followed by further free activities after the show. Younger siblings are also welcome to stay.

The Magical Journey Theatre is being held on Wednesday 29th June 2016 from 10am – 11.30am at the Aspendale Gardens Community Service, 103-105 Kearney Drive, Aspendale Gardens. Bookings are $5 per child and can be made by phoning Angela Costigan on 9587 5855 or email [email protected] or see the community life website by following the link here.

Kids Cooking Classes

Enjoy an engaging hands-on cooking activity where parents and kids can participate side-by-side in the kitchen to make something delicious together. Hosted by Gourmet Kids, every child who participates will receive a FREE chef's hat and apron to take home and keep. Everyone is invited to stay afterwards to share their baked creations at the Teddy Bear's Tea Party.

There are two Kids Cooking Class sessions. Children aged 2 to 5 years old are invited to participate from 10.30am and children aged 6 to 10 years from 1pm. This activity is being held on Thursday 30th June at the Aspendale Gardens Community Service, 103-105 Kearney Drive, Aspendale Gardens. There is a $7.50 booking fee and registration can be made by phoning Angela Costigan on 9587 5855 or email [email protected] or see the community life website by following the link here .
