There are lights in the sky and they're not just the stars in the sky. The lanterns floating up into the night are going to be a really beautiful display. If you have ever seen photos or been to a lantern display before, you know just how magical it can be. If you have never seen anything like this before, you are in for a big treat. Thanks to the City of Cockburn, you can participate in, or just watch the Community Lantern Parade for yourself.

Being led by the Dangerous Delights and followed by the Taiko drums, Japanese flute and didgeridoo being performed by the Taiko On. With the local students from nearby schools, the festival will be made up of lanterns that will be created at the Make Believe Lantern Art Workshop.

The Parade will begin at Omeo Hub, and then work its way to Coogee Beach, before finishing at the LiveLighter Community Hub. These lanterns are a symbol of strength and resilience, and you will feel moved as you watch the lanterns float away.

Attending is free, but you do have to register. Head to the Omeo Stage, at 6:50pm on the 11th of March. It will come to a beautiful and peaceful end at 7:30pm.
