There comes a point for every parent organising birthday parties when they just run out of steam. You'd done the 'at home' parties, the bowling/laser tag/movie parties and then the kids are just at that 'in between' age where it all becomes too difficult. We have just discovered a simple (and well priced) solution. With a birthday smack in between the EB Games Expo and Good Game Live, we're heading down to City Hunter at Burwood for linked gaming warfare!
City Hunter has four locations in Sydney - Chinatown, Haymarket, Burwood and Chatswood. They have VIP rooms for 6, 8 or 10 players that can be booked out for a minimum of three hours. The rates start at $63 and for 10, only $105.
The list of games available is massive, and covers the latest as well as games for all age ranges. You can, of course, just pop in for an hour by yourself on one of the many terminals in the public room.
It's clean, the staff are helpful (to non gaming old ladies like myself who don't really know what I'm asking for) and according to my son "will be the best party ever".
City Hunter also hosts tournaments and theme party afternoons - there are posters showing what's on but you can also check on the website and facebook. Currently DotA theme party is every Friday from 2.30 to 6.30 pm at Chinatown City Hunter.
