The iconic City Hall lights up for Christmas
Technology seeps into all aspects of our lives and recently light projections seem to have become the new fireworks. And why not? You can have vibrant colour, amazing special effects and glorious patterns in places that fireworks could never happen, and all without the noise and the acrid scent of smoke in the air. This year once again Brisbane's iconic City Hall will take on a distinctly festive air when it's bathed in the brilliant colour projections of the annual City Hall Light Spectacular.
This is technological pageantry at its best. It's been described as the shining jewel in the crown of Brisbane City's Christmas program and an all new show has been developed for 2015. Everyone's favourite Christmas story, The Nutcracker, will be brought to colourful life on the sandstone facade, Corinthian columns and soaring clock tower of Brisbane City Hall. You can follow the heroine of the story, Clara, in her journey through the enticing Land of Sweets.

The event promises to be "the City's most colourful and spectacular Christmas projection yet, and one for all ages to enjoy", so make sure you put this on your Christmas calendar and wish list.
The Gold Lotto City Hall Light Spectacular begins on Friday 11 December and will run nightly until Thursday 24 December. The projections begin at 7.30 pm and will run every 15 minutes until midnight. The stately clock in the Brisbane City Hall Clock Tower will chime for the beginning of celebrations each night.
