A city atmosphere, 24 hours a day
Love the concept at this place... City Extra gives you vibe of an inner city New York cafe somewhat, mostly catering for lunch for busy workers in the Parramatta business district, it also gets visitors late at night when most things are closed being open 24 hours a day. Personally If I had to choose a meal to eat there, it'd be breakfast for sure as the menu tends to be dominated by breakfast... The entire menu which includes lunch, dinner and breakfast as well as beverages, snacks and a pastiche of various cuisines from continental breakfast to a dash of Italian with one or two flavours of pizza or one or two flavours of pasta, a homemade traditional beef lasagne, to pancakes, crepes, cakes, salads etc. so definitely something for everyone. But the best part if you don't have to worry about what time of day it is as the entire menu is available twenty four hours and seven days...

Located on Church street in Parramatta, which is actually a beautiful street; busy, lively at any time of day, with an entire array of fantastic restaurants and cafés to choose from, a lovely little bridge and iconic structures including the Riverside theatre nearby, with parking on the street available if you're lucky, it's a prime location with relatively easy access via car or public transport.

If you do eat at City Extra though, I'd recommend sticking to the basic and simple items on the menu, as needless to say sometimes as one attempts to incorporate too many different things on the menu, the flavours and taste can get lost with the authenticity of the traditional recipes. Things like pancakes, coffees, toast, eggs were all fine.. Nothing extraordinary in terms of flavours but you'll enjoy sitting out along the street with a busy weekend ambience especially on a nice day, and the service was pleasant. I particularly love the menus which resemble a full size newspaper with news headlines on the front page, and the menu printed on the inside. It adds a special artistic touch.
