It may not be the best for everyone, but for a family it was heavenly. We drove in and parked right near the grass, unloaded the picnic and waited for sunset. The joy of being 2 metres from the car and not having to wipe sand out of a nappy was my particular highlight.
We watched as the cars came, the people piled out greeting friends with hugs and setting up for the evening. The surfers seemed to multiply, the volleyball players jumped and dived and the music from the fish bar made for a wonderful atmosphere.
We packed up at 7pm and headed for a walk towards Floreat. The baby fell asleep and the 3 year old scooted off his energy as we tackled the boardwalk. As we headed back, marvelling at how happy people were and how busy it was, there was a quick stop to run down the dunes, and then another stop, and another! 3 year olds don't seem to know the meaning of the word "enough"!
As we stumbled back to the car drunk on the atmosphere we decided City Beach was the best, well, until we discover the next one.
