In KURIOS, which is Chih-Min's first show for Cirque du Soleil, he uses his dazzling, elaborate versions of famous yo-yo tricks in his role as the Master of Time, using different speeds to express the way that time is flowing in the production. At times, his yo-yos look like they are n fire they glow and move so quickly!
It was a delight to meet him.
It took a few questions before Fletcher Donohue told us that he had studied at the West Australian Institute of Sport. Prior to that, Fletcher performed as an acrobat and actor at SeaWorld Australia, Warner Village Movie World and Dreamworld Australia.
As a member of the Australian National Team, he was a world trampoline finalist before adapting his gymnastic skills to become an entertainer, specialising in AcroNet – which is a blend of acrobatics, character work and choreographed movement, which sees the artists being caught and flipped in the air as they jump from a wide net.
He joined Cirque du Soleil in 2015 to perform in The Beatles' LOVE in Las Vegas, leaving in 2017 to join the AcroNet act in KURIOS. He also covers for the lead character of Mr Microcosmos.
And these are only two of the insanely talented cast of KURIOS - in Brisbane from January 10th in a season already extended to late February. This is a not-to be-missed extrzvaganza.
