If you're bedazzled by performing horses, clowns and acrobatics, then you must come and watch the great Circus Olympia these school holidays, showing in Berwick and then next, Cranbourne.
Direct from Europe, this amazing family owned Russian circus is crowd pleaser. Back in 2010 they showed in my area and I had to go twice because they are just that great.
The tricks these guys do are amazing, such as the woman who flies across the air hanging from a sheet, the clown who balances a pole on his head with two women and a little girl standing on a platform on top of the pole. Plus there is an amazing juggler and funny clown antics.
Acts change every few days, so there may be a variation but they are still all good. Your hands will be chaffed from clapping so hard.
The circus is small but reasonable, it isn't as huge as Silvers. They usually set up food stands and games and a jumping castle for the little ones.
The only problems I have is that last time I went the ticket lady was very abrupt and rude. They speak so softly and you can barely hear them because they're sitting behind a window, and then when you ask them to speak up twice, they get upset with you and shove the tickets in your hands and roll their eyes. Not very good service, but if it happened again I would complain.
My brothers enjoyed Circus Olympia and became very inspired by it and joined circus school for a while. They loved hula hooping and juggling and wanted to try acrobatics as well.
Kids of all ages will enjoy the show, there's never a boring moment, with the funny clowns coming out all the time to do a funny trick.
My favourite performer was the little four year old girl, Isabella who performs with her family and mostly her grandpa, who is the main clown. She is really talented and can do lots of tricks and copies her clown grandfather. My brothers loved her and thought she was so cute, they liked seeing another kid performing in the show.
I love Circus Olympia and when they come to Cranbourne, I'm going to go with all four of my siblings and my parents because I want everyone to see it. I recommend going during the school holidays one night.
