From the team who brought us one of the most successful magic shows in the world, The Illusionists; along with the award-winning puppeteers behind the hit show, War Horse, comes the turn of the century world premiere of Circus 1903 - The Golden Age of Circus. Featuring two magnificent elephants, Circus 1903 The Golden Age of Circus brings together some of the finest circus performers from right around the world in a show like you've never seen before.

With a distinctly Edwardian-esque feel, audiences will be given a real life taste of old-school Hollywood using the glitz and glamour of some very unique costuming and sets, in addition to the magnificence of the carefully crafted elephants. A compilation of spectacular thrills and daredevil feats, Circus 1903 - The Golden Age of Circus is a traditional showcase of everything from strong men to contortionists, acrobats to musicians and ever so much more. This live theatre production offers everything you'd expect from a traditional circus with a very unique and exciting twist.

Roll up, roll up and see the elephants live on stage. Enjoy the circus the way it used to be ,complete with the spectacle of the animals, only the animals featured In Circus 1903 The Golden Age of Circus are like nothing you've ever seen before. Crafted by the same model makers and puppeteers who worked on the UK National Theatre's War Horse, the African elephant and her baby are an absolute showpiece. Every move they make is sure to be captivating.

The rest of the show is sure to thrill also, with edge-of-your-seat traditional circus performances by an eclectic assembly of entertainers amassed from right around the world. There's the German cyclist, a French juggler, the death-defying Russian Rola Bola, the Ukrainian hand-to-hand acrobats, a hire wire act all the way from Mexico and the breathtaking knife thrower from Brazil.

Circus 1903 - The Golden Age of Circus is making its debut in Canberra on December first. Then the show is then touring through Sydney and Melbourne before setting off to dazzle audiences right around the world.

Producers Simon Painter and Tim Lawson are the creative team behind Le Grand Cirque, Le Noir, Cirque Adrenaline and The Illusionists, all of which were performed in over 250 cities, along with A Chorus Line, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang and Fiddler on the Roof presented live right here in Australia.

Tickets have been on sale for Circus 1903 - The Golden Age of Circus since Monday 29th August 2016. The show opens at the Regent Theatre, located at 191 Collins Street, Melbourne on Tuesday 3rd January 2016 at 7pm. The show has a limited run until Thursday 12th January 2017 with daytime shows starting at 3pm and evening shows from 7pm.

Tickets are priced at $81.26 for adults, $50.68 for children and a transaction fee of $8.90 applies per order. Tickets can be purchased from or by calling 1300 111 011.
