Circle is a stunning travelling exhibition, curated by Newcastle Museum in collaboration with award-winning children's author and artist Jeannie Baker.
This unique exhibition is now open at the Domain House at Royal Botanic Gardens Victoria until Sunday 14th of May, 2017 and showcases astounding artwork from Baker's latest picture book, Circle.
Released in 2016, this beautifully illustrated picture book follows the 11,000 kilometre migratory path of the Bar-tailed godwit (Limosa lapponica baueri), the longest unbroken migration path of any animal - traveling from Australia through Southeast Asia to its Alaskan breeding grounds and then back to Australia.
The Godwit's remarkable flight is followed as it comes full circle … back to the place where mud and sand become sea
Circle is open to the public from Thursday 16th March to Sunday 14th May 2017 in Domain House. It is open Wednesday to Sunday, 10am to 3pm (Closed Public Holidays). Entry is by gold coin donation.
