Step Right Up, Step Right Up
Ever wanted to run away and join the circus? Bright lights, talented performers, colourful costumes, the smell of popcorn under the big top and the applause? Well, before you pack your bags, it might be worth learning a few circus skills to help you on your way.

Talented performers

CircArts in Geelong, a welcoming and supportive circus and fitness community, could be just the place for you to get fit, get bendy and have a heap of fun. They offer a wide variety of classes for all ages and skill levels.

Kids aged 3 - 17 can join the CircArts Academy. Students will learn a wide range of foundation circus skills including tumbling, trapeze, acrobalance, strength and flexibility, aerial silk, juggling, handstands, tightrope, pyramids and hula hooping.

For adults, CircArtsFIT classes are a great way to challenge yourself while having fun and getting fit. With classes for everyone, from the complete beginner to the experienced acrobat, there is something for everyone.

You can improve your flexibility with a contortion acrobatic class, learn to handstand and flip in a tumbling class, or increase your strength while climbing and posing in one of the Aerial Silk and Aerial Hoop classes. You'll be flying through the air with the greatest of ease in no time.

Bend and Flex

Certainly a very exciting and different way to keep fit. A regular spin class down at the gym will seem rather dull in comparison.

All instructors are highly trained circus performers, gymnasts or dancers with years of experience performing, training or coaching. Their current team includes NICA (National Institute of Circus Arts) graduates, a performer on the Cirque Du Soleil database, a physiotherapist, a personal trainer, an Olympic gymnast, a Disney World choreographer and several performers with 10 years or more experience in Circus Arts, dancing, callisthenics and theatre, so you'll be in great hands.

Gracefully flying through the air

CircArts Academy enrolments are available throughout each term, however, class spaces are limited and it's recommended to book in advance.

CircArts FIT (17 and over) classes for adults run all year and there are multiple classes for all fitness and skill levels each week, so why not book a trial class today here.

CircArts is open as follows:

4pm - 8.45pm Weekdays
7am – 3pm Saturday
Sundays by appointment only.

Full details of all classes can be found here.

So if anything more than bending down and touching your toes, is going to be, pardon the pun, a stretch, then check out a class. You'll be packing your bags and donning a sequined outfit before you know it. And if flying through the air doesn't quite work out, you can always give trying out to be a clown a go.
