Event:
From a galaxy near, the Imperial rises to the occasion
Ole! It's time to combine some spicy Mexican fun with the epic space creation, that is, Star Wars. Not your usual alliance of twosomes but in May this is exactly what you'll get at this fiesta.

This quirky dance party, celebrating the ancient Battle of Puebla and the Battle of Endor from a galaxy far far away, encourages you to dress up in your best Mexican garb or Star Wars costume. Combine the two for a weirder outfit that will be the talk of the town. There are prizes to be won for best dressed.

DJ's all night with Mexican beer, a Tequila Bar, frozen margaritas and special Star Wars cocktails will have you moovin' and groovin' or slippin' and slidin' on two dance floors till the wee hours of the next morning. There are also salsa lessons to get hot with and live entertainment with Mariachis.

Grab some authentic Mexican food from the Cantina Movil pop-up to keep you going and have fun with piņatas and games of chance Mexican style, such as Loteria, which is similar to bingo but uses pictures on cards.

The Imperial Hotel in Erskineville is the venue, made famous with the filming of the drag scene in Priscilla, Queen of the Desert, flaunting acceptance and equality for everyone whether you're Chewbacca or Obi-Juan Kenobi.

It's free entry up to 8pm if you're in costume, otherwise you will be charged $10. After 8pm, it's $10 if in costume or $20 per person. Oh, and in costume is not a sombrero and a fake moustache. You have to put some effort into it. No tickets are needed, just show up and no lockout.

This is an 18 years and over event for all amigos, gringos and playmates. Anyone who loves dancing and a fun time is welcome.

So storm troop in anytime from 7pm and let the Latino force be with you.
