Mexico's liveliest and most colourful festival
Brisbane's most popular all-ages festival, Cinco de Mayo, returns on Labour Day long weekend!

It's time to dust off your maracas and sombreros and get ready for a vibrant and festive celebration of Mexican culture, cuisine, cocktails and music in the heart of Brisbane City.

This one-day only festival will be held on Sunday 30th of April, 2017 from 1pm till late and transform the Riverlife Precinct into an extraordinary fiesta with an amazing live entertainment line-up, interactive dance workshops, a huge array of bustling food stalls serving up all your Mexican favourites and great activities for the kids to enjoy!

Originally, Cinco de Mayo was a day that commemorated the Mexican battle of Puebla, where the French were defeated, and heritage, pride and national unity was restored. Today, Cinco de Mayo (the fifth of May) marks a huge celebration of all things Mexican!

Some of the highlights of this year's festival program include:

  • The Mad Mariachi Band

  • Duo serenata

  • Azucar Afro-Latin Dance Studio Salsa Dancers and lessons

  • Live DJ

  • Margarita Bar

  • Blueberry & passionfruit red wine sangria

  • Chilli Eating Competition

  • Craft (for the kids)

  • Sugar Skull Face Painting Stall

  • Churro Cart

  • Sombrero Stall
  • If you're feeling hungry, you can indulge in Pulled Pork Quesadillas, Baked Chicken and Cheese Chimichangas, Chilli Beef and Bean Nachos, Butternut Squash or Black Bean Chipotle Chilli. There will also be Sangria, a Margarita Bar, a fabulous selection of Mexican wine and beers, plus spirits and soft drinks!

Best of all, tickets to Cinco de Mayo include entry to the Mexican celebration, 1 food dish, 2 drink vouchers and all performances!

Tickets are now on sale through and available at the discounted price of $48.30pp. Secure your ticket today at to take advantage of this special limited price. Full price tickets are $69pp.

All are welcome to this family-friendly and licensed event. Don't miss out on one of Mexico's liveliest and most colourful festivals at Riverlife!
