I like to participate in life rather than be a spectator. Music, dancing, theatre, travelling, food, cycling and walking are some of my passions. Writing is an enjoyable pastime that allows me to share my experiences.
Tasty Italian food and waterfront views can be enjoyed at Cielo Italiano every day bar Monday and Tuesday. The name of the restaurant can be translated to Italian sky and the ambience is reminiscent of a small family-run trattoria.

On Wednesdays and Thursdays, they have a great value lunchtime create your own pasta special. For $14.90 you can choose from three kinds of pasta and five sauces or a slow-cooked lasagne.
The pappardelle with pesto al fungi was delicious and full of the flavour of basil and mushrooms. Sipping an Aperol Spritz at a red checked table whilst dining on pasta and watching the passing parade gave me an "on holidays" feeling.
The chargrilled Sicilian Octopus and Calamari salad for $22.90 was refreshing and light with perfectly cooked fresh and tender seafood. The baby octopus was crisp and had the right amount of BBQ flavour. Cielo Italiano is fully licensed with a wine list that encompasses international and Australian wines. Cocktails are a speciality and are available for $10 on Wednesday to Saturday at 3pm - 6pm.
There are some gluten-free and vegetarian items on the menu, and the friendly staff are very helpful. Children are welcome and have a special menu and if you dine outside your furry pal can sit with you.
