I love trying new food and new restaurants. My other passions are Origami and Pokémon

Recently opened in Adelaide Arcade, Cielo is a cafe that is uniquely run a bit like a tea room. Its chef, Chaveli Goya, had notably worked as a pastry chef at Appellation Restaurant and Shibui Dessert Bar. Aside from a good range of pastries, the cafe also offers the chef's own tea blend range, Fresia and Cassia.

Their Orange and Almond Cake was very moist with a delectable citrus flavour that was not overpowering. A scattering of almonds added a bit of crunch and the cake was baked sufficiently to give it a nice golden-brown colour. Completing the presentation was a topping of a dried rosebud.

The Cookie Brownie's texture is the fudgy type, which is typical of American brownies, without being too heavy. It had the degree of chocolatey flavour that we expected and the namesake topping of cookie dough added a nice crunchy element to the brownie.

The pastry of the Blueberry Tart had a light and slightly crumby texture with a delectable buttery taste. The cream filling was not too sweet and the topping of blueberries added a bit of tartness. A light dusting of icing sugar made the tart more eye-catching.

While not as "fancy" as the Cookie Brownie, it did not make the Walnut Brownie less delicious. The chunks of walnuts mixed throughout the brownie gave it a different texture while helping to impart a hint of a nutty flavour.

In addition to sweet pastries, the cafe also offers baguettes for those that desire something savoury. Its location makes it convenient for visitors to Rundle Mall to visit for delicious pastries and teas.
