This undulating 800 metre drive runs between Landscape Drive and Mooroolbark Road.
Winter flowers are in full bloom, heralding the coming of spring. Beautiful camellias dominate the colour spectrum, from trees full of blooms to individual flowers.
Not as numerous but still colourful are azaleas.
Many jonquils are still flowering and a stand of daffodils look delightful in sunlight with the background in shadow, projecting the flowers forward.
Very few birds were seen, just a couple of magpies and a couple of crows, all on the ground.
Many magnolia trees were in various stages of flowering and various shades of colour.
Many daisies were growing but in this walk not a great variation of colours, but any daisy is a good daisy!
Occasionally old farm implements make a garden feature. A two blade horse-drawn plough featured in one garden.
Many grevilleas were blooming, with the red variety being the most popular. Also popular in many gardens are the many varieties of the hebe bush.
Part way along a path leads to the Rolling Hills Reserve, which is a large expanse of grass on a slope and a large playground with a flying fox.
Two white flowers looked very attractive. A white rose towering into the sky and a couple of lilies beginning to unfurl into full bloom.
Several walkers were walking, some with their dog. One dog I met was Beau, a cross between a fox terrier and a Chihuahua. At least the poodle was having a rest!
Birdbaths were often seen in some gardens along with a cosy couple.
Succulents in large pots are becoming a feature in many modern gardens. Some trees have endured a very close shave with a pruning saw.
Leucadendron plants do look quite spectacular, particularly when hit with bright sunlight.
With few front fences on modern blocks, few plants have the opportunity to escape but a picket fence gives the opportunity for some plants to try their luck.
This is an easy walk with the up slopes not great, but they are down slopes on your return journey.
