Owned by the same people who own Chunky Obba Gogi , Chunky Obba Bunsik at Arndale Shopping Centre specialises in Korean cuisine. The dishes focus on Korean street food, suited for those wanting a quick meal.

Their Korean Chicken had succulent flesh contrasted nicely by crisp coating. The coating of the chicken gave it a delectable savoury taste. For the flavour, we chose the hot spicy sauce. The degree of spiciness is suitable for most tastes. We were able to have the sauce served on the side. Accompanying the chicken was a serving of pickled daikon.

It may not look like it at first, but the portion size of the Tteokbokki was quite generous. The Korean rice sticks had a nice chewy texture. A contrast of texture was provided by fish cakes. The spiciness of the Original Tteokbokki was not too fiery. Eating it slowly is advised as it is served steaming hot. If diners wish, they can add side dishes like Seaweed Rolls to the dish at an additional cost.

Tornado Potato is a street food originating from South Korean, in which a potato cut into a spiral is mounted on a wooden skewer before being deep-fried. The potato was fluffy with some texture, and the batter coating added extra crispiness. It was cooked sufficiently to give it a golden-brown colour. The ketchup & mustard topping we picked imparted a tangy taste with a hint of sweetness.

In addition to the restaurant’s in-house drinks, diners can choose to order drinks from Coco Fresh Tea & Juice next door. Its location makes it very accessible for visitors to Arndale Shopping Centre who desire Korean cuisine.
