Beginning two years ago when the council spoke with Sunshine Coast communities about possible ways to celebrate Christmas, the annual is bigger and better than ever and the community is invited to celebrate the official launch of the festive season on Wednesday 23 November at Mooloolaba.

Displayed in places where everyone could enjoy them, these are not your average Christmas trees – they range in size and species – from fabulous Figs to pretty Paperbarks, and each will have a unique set of dazzling decorations.
Everything is environmentally friendly, with Light Emitting Diode (LED) lighting decorating the trees. This keeps the Sunshine Coast's reputation as Australia's most sustainable region alive and well.

Tech conscious celebrators, have no fear! For the first time, new scan-code technology will be implemented, enabling passersby to download the 'story behind the tree' with a simple swipe of their iPhones and smart phones.

The trail of nature and lights winds all over the Sunshine Coast region, and through such locations as Alexandra Headlands, Beerwah library, Wyanda Park Bokarina, the Old Post Office in Buderim, Bill Vernado's Park Caloundra, Boyle Park Conondale, Pioneer Park Cooran, Cotton Tree Park, Crummunda Park Wurtulla, Eudlo Skate Park, Rotary Park Glasshouse, Kenilworth Town Park, Kin Kin, RSL Park Landsborough, Maleny, Mapleton - War Memorial, Felix Parry Park Marcoola, Village Green Montville, Mooloolaba, Mudjimba Park, Nambour Town Square, Lowe Street, Noosaville, Eliza Peatling Park Pacific Paradise, Kolora Park Palmwoods, Peregian Beach, Joe Bazzo Park Pomona, Tewantin, Town of Seaside, RSL War Memorial Park Yandina.

Be sure to use Google Maps to plan out your journey; there is also a map and plan of the events locations that can be downloaded from the Sunshine Coast Council website .

Don't miss out on this once a year event - vibrant, green and diverse.
