New to Canberra, I love exploring this city and the secrets that it holds with my family.
Puddings, pies & handmade presents
It is almost Christmas - lists are made to Santa, the fridge is stocked up, the BBQ is at the ready and Canberran's are hitting the shops in search for the perfect gifts.
If you are after a present that is perhaps more personal, unusual or hand-made, why not check out the Christmas Markets at the Old Bus Depot Markets held on both Saturday and Sunday each weekend in December.
You'll find Christmas table centre pieces, wreaths to decorate your door, handmade stockings, personalised Christmas baubles and advent calendars for the home.

To help fill your guests tummies (and your own!) there will be home made Christmas fare including gingerbread men, Christmas puddings, cakes, nougat, mince tarts, gingerbread houses, shortbreads as well as savoury goodies.

If you enjoy the smell of a live Christmas tree, they will be on sale at each market from St Nicholas Trees (stock permitting). This tree farm from outside of Goulburn has been supplying the Canberra region for over a decade. When you have got your tree home, make sure you follow their recommendations to keep your tree alive for longer.

Enjoy the Christmas spirit at the Old Bus Depot markets, and stock up on presents and delicious goodies for the big day. With live music a big part of the Old Bus Depot Markets, you are sure to hear a few Christmas carols as you browse the market stalls.
