I'm a freelance writer living in Newcastle. I'm passionate about travelling, writing, photography and food. I enjoy experiencing new adventures and look forward to sharing my stories with you.
If there is an event you have to mark down and attend this is the one.
The Hunter Valley Garden puts on an amazing Christmas lights show that promises to entertain both young and old. The show runs from Friday 9 November through to Saturday 26 January.

HVG Christmas Lights Show
The HVG is perfect venue to showcase the various Christmas lights on show and the gardens provide the perfect Christmas wonderland for story book characters to come to life, mazes to have fun in, fun rides for the kids, children's entertainment with Santa making an appearance, plenty of food and drink choices and the pièce de résistance a beautifully decorated Christmas tree, which happens to be massive.
The layout is designed so that you are able to follow a path, which works well as most people are heading in the same direction. The show is a sight for sore eyes with each designated area outdoing the last. My favorite has to be the cherry trees and the giant polar bears.

Polar Bears
The venue attracts large crowds, so be prepared to share your space and photos with strangers, but it is all in good fun. The kids loved the
Alice in Wonderland themed area, where they were able to interact with the characters.
The HVG puts on fireworks at the end of the show and they definitely have the wow factor. My only recommendation is to make sure you pack aeroguard as the mozzies are lethal and wear good walking shoes as the whole show can take up to two hours to fully appreciate.
