HO HO HO Christmas is coming to town
Christmas is a magical time where families come together and wishes come true. Sydney gets into the festive spirit in a number of ways with a Santa Fest in Darling Harbour, Carols under the Bridge and in the Domain, Twilight Christmas Markets and Village Concerts. It also has many spectacular Christmas lights on display as well as digital projections off buildings.
Here are some places to see all the glitter and colour of Christmas in Sydney:-
Children's Concert and Lighting of the Tree in Martin Place, 29th November from 6pm-8.30pm
This free concert is a favourite with the littlies and this year's acts include Teddy Rock, Lah Lah's Big Live Band, Sesame Street characters and Play School Favourites Big Ted, Little Ted and Jemima.
Santa and the Lord Mayor will be arriving by sleigh to light the tree that will be interactive, allowing you to control the colour settings of the LED Christmas decorations via a touch pad kiosk. You'll also be able to send messages up its branches by texting 0427 840851 or #sydxmastree. How cool is that.
Street Light Disco in Martin Place, 27th November to 25th December
Developed through Art and About Sydney, this shimmering display of banner poles will transform the promenade to captivate visitors with a mirror ball-effect. Sure to have you dancing in the street on a night out.
Christmas Light Forest, Digital Projections & LEGO Christmas Tree in Pitt St Mall, 27th November to 25th December
A forest of Christmas trees suspended from above and made from thousands of LED lights will shine and integrate with a free smartphone app that will let you change the colour sequence by blowing into your phone. Wow, I love technology.
There will also be digital projections on buildings in the Mall and at the King St entrance, then at Westfields you don't want to miss the huge LEGO Christmas Tree complete with Santa and sleigh that will dazzle fans of these colourful bricks. It comes to life in a nightly light show set to festive music from 8pm.
Town Hall Projections 27th November to 25th December and Concert 16th December
One of the city's most beautiful heritage buildings will come alive with Christmas projections on the outside from 8.30pm to 1am and inside the Grand Organ will feature in music and carol singing at a single concert from 8pm to 9.30pm. Tickets for the concert are essential with prices of $15 per Adult and $12 per Child/concession and can be booked here.

Queen Victoria Building Swarovski Christmas Tree Now till 31st December and Crystal Garden Now till 24th December
The tree in QVB is surely the largest in our city, spanning 3 floors, and will more than sparkle with over 140,000 Swarovski crystals and a further 60,000 Christmas lights.
Furthermore, on level 2 of this fabulous building, you will come across a winter wonderland garden steeped in silver light with amazing Swarovski blossom trees, crystal flowers and butterflies below a canopy of crystal strands. Of course, Santa will be there as well sitting in a crystal-encrusted throne for children to tell him their wish lists from Mon-Fri 9am-6pm and on weekends from 11am-5pm.
St Mary's Cathedral Digital Projections, 9th to 25th December
Live choir performances from 7.30pm at this wonderful English-style Gothic church followed by digital imagery and animation on the 75 metre high facade from 8.30pm till midnight. Sound and narration on 'service' also provided.
Beautiful by day, imagine it by night at Christmas
