I am a mum of two and Primary School teacher whose aim is to never be home during the midday movie. I believe that I am only ever a car trip away from an adventure.

Mentone is ablaze with a million tiny illuminating light bulbs that create a visual spectacular to delight and amaze people of all ages. Doors have opened wide and visitors are invited yet again to soak up the Christmas spirit at The Christmas Kingdom, located conveniently on Nepean Highway in Mentone. The other shop is open in Flemington so that pretty much covers two sides of town.
These should grab the neighbours attention
If you have visited before, perhaps it's a family tradition as it is in ours then you know to grab a trolley and wear your sunglasses as this place is neither shy nor retiring. I like this for over the dinner table
Whether you are after a brand new Christmas tree that looks real or a more contemporary looking one or some lights for outside, a blow up van driven by Santa (well isn't everyone?) or some new ribbons, baubles or wreaths then look no further.
You can create an outdoor light display that will have neighbours envious or perhaps you would like to recreate a Donna Hay styled dinner table with an amazing centrepiece and candles to take the attention off the turkey. Maybe your own items are looking a little tired and just need an upgrade or you could use some new decorations to give your tree, yard or home a lift for the upcoming festivities. Whatever the case may be this is definitely your one stop Christmas shop. Open everyday from 10-5:30 and 10-5:00 on weekends, Christmas Kingdom even has collectibles such as Charming Tails and Fitz and Floyd which make timeless and classic gifts to pass down and be enjoyed by families for generations to come.
Beautiful pieces to pass down through generations.
If however your not particularly in the market to create a wonderland at your place then the Christmas Kingdom is still certainly worth a visit. They have beautiful and whimsical animated window displays which are a great treat for the locals and brings the love of the famous iconic Myer window to the suburbs. This year look out for penguins, teddies and Santa sneaking a peek out at his audience.
Lights, lights and more lights
Inside past the rows of rainbow coloured tinsel, the sparkling ornaments and the glittering lights is the amazing Magical Forest which will dazzle the young and the youngster in us all. It includes a variety of beautiful trees all awash with light even a talking one, a dancing Santa and a lot of blown up creatures like reindeer and elves. It really feels like you have left reality at the door and stumbled head long into your own imagination. Watch the kids dart about you pointing and squealing with delight and simply enjoy the atmosphere created here at the Christmas kingdom. Oh and don't forget to send off a wish list to Santa or get your photo taken in his red overstuffed chair. A great place to take a moment to refocus after the bright lights of the wonderland forest reside.
Santa's comfy chair is a perfect resting spot
