To kick off the festive season this year, Mount Isa City Council will host "Christmas in the City" on Tuesday 22nd November 2019. Starting from 6.30 pm to 8 pm, this free event, dedicated to Mount Isa community and also visitors, celebrates the magic of Christmas together. To beat Mount Isa's hot weather, Mount Isa City Council decided to host this event at the Civic Centre on 23 West Street Mount Isa with air-conditioned comfort room.

Mount Isa gets ready for 2019 Christmas season
It's not Christmas before you hear a Christmas carol. So the Mount Isa Combined School Choir with the Rolling Tones, led by Kate Hartley from Mount Isa Community Ensemble (MICE), will entertain you with Christmas carols. ABC Kids favourites Lah-Lah's Big Live Band will also come to this event with their stripy Christmas. Beside traditional Christmas songs that everyone is familiar with, Lah-Lah's Big Live Band also will play Lah-Lah new original Christmas songs such as 'Santa's Got A Brand New Groove'. Not only that, Mount Isa's own Pacific Groove will bring their soulful sounds. Other entertainment will be also there to enjoy, such as the dance performance from Mount Isa School of Dance.
Mount Isa community will also provide Christmas market stalls and food and drink stall. Don't forget to bring a mat or chairs to sit on while enjoying food and drink from the stall as well as top-class entertainment.

Big Christmas tree on City Council ground
The event will then move to the Civic Centre lawn for the lighting of the city's tree by Mayor Joyce McCulloch. Psssttt, don't go after that because Santa Claus will come to visit. So make sure you will be on the nice list!
