, or Monty as the locals refer to it, is to be held this year on Saturday 7 December 2013.

Montmorency is a quaint suburb located between Eltham and Greensborough in Melbourne's north-east. Central to the suburb is the Were Street Shopping Village, which is right near the Montmorency train station.

The Montmorency Traders Association organise the annual Christmas event which features a Toy Drive, music by local artists, a visit from Santa plus lots of other festivities to be held during the day.

The events starts at 10am with the annual toy drive at 10.30am where new toys can be donated to those in need.

There is a Christmas window display competition where the local school children decorate the shop windows. Browse the local windows and admire the creativity of the children's art work.

There will be the opportunity to say hello to Santa who will be visiting Were Street throughout the day. There will be local music playing so have a coffee, morning tea or lunch at the numerous cafés and eateries which offer outside dining and enjoy the relaxed atmosphere of Were Street.

There will be performances in the Were Street Park by :
Montmorency Primary School at 10am;
Black Cat Bone at 10.45am and 12.15pm;
St Francis Xavier Primary School at 12 noon; and
Briar Hill Primary School at 1pm.

At the Windmill (near Mudd Cafe) there will be more local performances.

Scrimshaw Four at 10.15am, 12pm and 1.15pm;
The Krazy Koala Puppet Show at 10.45am and 12.45pm; and
Belly Dancing at 11.30am.

Parking is available in Were Street with additional parking located in a car park accessed from Wellington Street.
