A fun way to assist our Wounded Heroes
What goes 'Oh! Oh! Oh?'
Santa walking backwards.
Bit soon for Christmas jokes, do you think?
Not if, like me, you are attending a Christmas in July function.
You too are welcome to join us at a Christmas in July Trivia Night, a Fundraiser for Wounded Heroes. The evening will include a two course Christmas Dinner, cracking Christmas jokes, followed by trivia and games with the opportunity to win prizes and raffles.
So who are Wounded Heroes exactly? They are a national community organisation established to support Australian servicemen and women and their families, and to ease the financial, emotional and personal hardships of contemporary military life.
Wounded Heroes does whatever it takes to fund support services for deployed personnel, the wounded and their families. This is principally done by providing short-term emergency relief payments to individuals and their families, although funds are also available for other purposes where a need exists. My personal favourite service is the 24/7 Hotline for veterans and the families of veterans.(Phone: 1800 011 046).
Wounded Heroes is a registered charity in Australia (ABN 91644109140) and is endorsed by the Australian Taxation Office as a Public Benevolent Institution, where all donations are tax deductible.
This evening has been organised by the mother of a soldier. Some of her friends are also the mothers of a soldier, so not only should it be great fun, but it will be an evening full of heart.
It will be held on Saturday, 28th of July, at the Bethania Community Centre, 88 - 118 Station Road, Bethania. Dinner will be served from 6pm till 7p, and then our knowledge of trivia will be tested. Do you need to practise?
Q: In the early 1800s, the first gingerbread houses were reportedly inspired by what famous fairy tale?
Soft drinks will be available to purchase, otherwise it is BYO.
Tickets cost $35.00 each, and bookings must be made by 14th July, 2018. Please call Tracy on 0427 380 557 to reserve your place now.
Lastly, it's Christmas themed attire for those after another shot at a prize.
This event has all the makings of a good night, and is most certainly for a great cause!
