Christmas is so nice, celebrate it twice. Christmas in Queensland is often a scorcher, so July is the perfect time of year to enjoy a traditional, hot, baked Christmas dinner. Choose from these festive feasts, high teas, or gingerbread making class to celebrate the silly season - in July.
Celebrate a traditional German Christmas at the Black Forest Restaurant (Highgate Hill) with slow roasted duck, venison, and wild boar loin. Wash it down with your choice of twelve German beers. Christmas at the Black Forest runs from June 29 to July 28.
Watt Restaurant and Bar at the Brisbane Powerhouse (New Farm) is celebrating Christmas from July 1 until July 31; with a two-course lunch including a glass of glühwein. Cost is $49 per person.
Join Santa onboard a Kookaburra River Queens Christmas Cruise. Enjoy a traditional three-course Christmas buffet on the Brisbane River; including live entertainment. Cruises depart from the Eagle Street Pier at 7:30pm on Saturday, July 21 and Saturday, July 28. Cost is $99 per adult, $49.50 per child, or $247.50 for a family of four.
The Stamford Plaza's Brasserie on the River will delight with their festive feast: roast turkey, glazed leg ham, succulent seafood, and all the trimmings. Make sure to leave room for dessert: Christmas cupcakes, cookies, gingerbread trifle, and more. Christmas in July is available from July 6 to July 29. Prices start at $45.
The Stamford Plaza Hotel will also host a Christmas High Tea in the Lobby. Sweet treats include eggnog cheesecake, miniature fruit mince pies, and cognac soaked festive fruit scones. Christmas High Tea is available Monday to Friday, from 3pm to 5pm, for the merry month of July. Prices start at $35.
Christmas is coming to the Cobble Stone Tea House (New Farm). Feast on festive treats the weekend of July 21 to 22. There are three sittings to choose from: 11am, 1pm, and 3pm. Cost is $45 per person.
If you have ever wanted to make a gingerbread house but don't know how, join James St Cooking School (Fortitude Valley) in July and learn how to bake, make, and decorate one. This Christmas class is available one day only, July 7; from 10am until 2pm. The cost is $160 which includes a light meal and non-alcoholic beverages.
