The Noosa hinterland town of Cooroy is a charming mix of history, nature, arts and good old-fashioned country hospitality. Settled in the 1880s as a timber town, Cooroy today attracts creatives, artists, foodies, producers and nature lovers.

Proudly showcased by the Cooroy Chamber of Commerce , the 20th Annual Christmas in Cooroy is a night of festive fun and community spirit … and you are invited! Come along and join in as the little hinterland town of Cooroy celebrates this incredible milestone with a magical evening filled with family-friendly entertainment and holiday cheer, all made possible by the generous support of local businesses.



Christmas in Cooroy 2024 is shaping up to be bigger and better than ever before, with an abundance of family-friendly attractions, including the Lighting of the Tree, an animal farm, a climbing wall, a boxing ring plus interactive activities for all ages.

Capture perfect Christmas memories with Santa, who’s doing the detour via Cooroy, and have your photo taken with him. Be totally awestruck with the talents of the local community as they take to the stage with memorable performances in the town hall plus make sure to buy a ticket or three to be in the running for a delicious Christmas ham.



FESTIVE FLICKS FLOAT PARADE

One of the biggest highlights of Christmas in Cooroy has always been the Float Parade and due to popular demand, is making a comeback this year. The theme for the Float Parade in 2024 is ‘Festive Flicks’, so expect beautifully creative floats, from heartwarming scenes to snowy adventures, all inspired by your favourite holiday movies, making sure to bring the magic of Christmas to life, in Cooroy. The Festive Flicks Float Parade is proudly sponsored by Bendigo Bank.

GREAT SANTA RACE

Join in the festive fun of another highlight of Christmas in Cooroy, the much-loved Great Santa Race. It’s compulsory to put on your best Santa suit and dash through town, to the accompaniment of laughter, friendly competition and festive holiday cheer. The Great Santa Race is perfect for all ages, bringing the community together for a memorable start to the festive season whilst supporting local charities. Ready, set, ho, ho, ho!



The Race starts on the lower end of Maple Street (outside the Butter Factory) at 5.50pm, with registration from 5.30pm. There are some awesome cash prizes too for the fastest Santas -

JINGLE JOGGERS JAUNT

Try saying that one fast! Is the Amazing Race one of your favourite shows? Why not get involved with Cooroy’s Christmas version, the Jingle Joggers Jaunt. The objective of the Jingle Joggers Jaunt is to explore Cooroy while solving Christmas-themed clues and challenges to find hidden locations and complete tasks. The first person to successfully complete all challenges and reach the finish line wins the game.

The Jingle Joggers Jaunt around Cooroy is a fun and festive Christmas-themed adventure that encourages teamwork and creativity while exploring the local community.



Jingle Joggers to meet up at the corner of Maple Street and Wimmers Lane. The Jaunt begins at 6.15pm, with registration from 6.00pm or alternatively follow this highlighted link to register and read more about suitable 'Attire' and 'Terms and Conditions'. Tickets to participate are ONLY $15 per entrant.

DECORATED BIKE COMPETITION

Who has the flashiest wheels in Cooroy? The Decorated Bike Competition is split into two categories and is open to children ages 2 to 5 years and 6 to 13 years. The theme is open, so children can allow their imaginations to shine through.

Both categories have their own prizes -



POSSUM TRAIL

Can you spot all the themed possums in the shop windows? Spot the most and you just may win a prize.


Food stalls, shopping, entertainment and activities will be aplenty with many of the stores staying open throughout the evening.
