The warmer months in Melbourne and wider Australia always see a wonderful mix of summer sporting events with Christmas cheer.
True, to family and friends visiting from afar it may seem a strange at first - especially those from the Northern Hemisphere far more used to snow and rain over their Christmas season - but Australia's culture has helped affirm Santa can do just as well in the heat as the cold.
This will also help explain why the end of November shall see a well-built man in a red suit traversing along the beach in (hopefully) sunshine and all done in the name of a great cause.
This Rotary walk and (bike) ride shall go from Sandringham Oval to Green Point, passing by a number of Bayside's best beaches. With proceeds from the day set to go to Rotary's Food Drive, this outing will be fun and a great example of community contribution.
What's more, there will also be music by Paul Jamieson, AKA The Music Man. For those walkers and riders of the younger and smaller variety, knowing some entertainment will also be on offer alongside exercise is sure to seal the deal on this wonderful day out in Sandringham.
