There's a heap of special Christmas events to enjoy throughout November and December at Sydney's iconic Queen Victoria Building.

Snow Dome
For the first time ever, the QVB 's cavernous central dome will be transformed into a giant snow dome. Snow will fall from the ancient stained glass ceiling, cascading beautifully onto the 24 metre tall Swarovski Christmas Tree , with its 144,000 Swarovski crystal ornaments and 60,000 twinkling lights. However, this special sight will only be occurring at select times between Saturday November 17 and Sunday December 2. You can see it every Thursday at 6.00pm, and on Saturday and Sunday on the hour at 12.00pm, 1.00pm and 2.00pm.

Santa Photos in the Swarovski Crystal Garden
While you're at QVB, you can also see Santa on his bejeweled throne within the Swarovski Crystal Garden, which has been designed to replicate the pristine beauty of the North Pole. Santa will be surrounded by crystal flowers, butterflies and blossom trees, all located underneath a glittering canopy of suspended Swarovski crystal strands. You can even get your photo taken with him, and every child who does will receive a traditional wooden toy. Packages vary, and include everything from wallet-sized photos to larger portraits. Times when Santa is available also vary each day and they can be found here , with extended trading hours operating in the week before Christmas.

Live Performances
Rounding out QVB's magical Christmas experience will be a series of live musical performances during December. The Australian Girls Choir will be performing between 12pm and 2pm on Saturday December 15, Thursday December 20 and Saturday December 22.

Rochelle Dew will team up with pianist Elodie Sablier to perform a special Christmas Carol rendition composed especially for the QVB. They will perform in Thursday December 6, Monday December 10, Monday December 17 and Sunday December 23 between 1.00pm and 3.00pm.

Elodie Sablier will also be performing by herself on Monday December 3, Tuesday December 4, Saturday December 8, Tuesday December 11, Thursday December 13 and Sunday December 16 between 12.00pm and 3.00pm. She will also perform on Thursday December 6, Tuesday December 18, Wednesday December 19 and Thursday December 20 between 5.00pm and 8.00pm.

There will be Christmas Carollers performing on Tuesday December 18, Wednesday December 19 and Monday December 24 between 1.00pm and 4.00pm. Lastly, jazz quartet The Acca Daiquiris will be performing on Wednesday December 5, Sunday December 9 and Wednesday December 12 between 12.30pm and 3.30pm.

As well as all these events, there will also be premium gift-wrapping service (costing no more than a gold coin donation, with all proceeds going to the Barnardos , who focus on child welfare). Then, of course, there are all the stores where you can get your hands on some great Christmas presents, with some truly unique options available.
